Visitors from Italy
Davide Borgonovi and Bozen Brass at the Wenzel Meinl GmbH
We were glad to welcome Davide Borgonovi at the Wenzel Meinl GmbH, professor for tuba at the Academy of Music "Nicoló Piccinni" in Bari (Italy). Davide studied at the conservatoire Lausanne with Roger Bobo, he is free-lance tuba player and, among others, regularly plays with the orchestra "Teatro dell’Opera" at Rome. Often he has temporary jobs to help such well-known orchestras as the orchestra of the NDR at Hamburg.
For quite some time he is proud owner of a MELTON CC-TUBA "Thor" 5450, which gives him the necessary safety in the orchestra. Looking for a new F-tuba Davide now took his time to come to Geretsried to visit the new test center for B&S and MELTON instruments in the house of the Wenzel Meinl GmbH. After testing more than 15 F-Tubas it soon showed that the B&S 3100WGJ F-tuba corresponded exactly with his wishes. "If I were looking for a F-Tuba with piston valves I absolutely would have decided for the fantastic new MELTON 2250 F-tuba. Even if I do not need a new tuba in the next time I will soon return and can only recommend it to every tuba player. It’s like in land of milk and honey!"
The same day, Bozen Brass arrived for tests at Wenzel Meinl. Norbert Fink, Stefan Mahlknecht, Robert Neumair, Anton Ludwig Wilhalm and Toni Pichler used the opportunity to test the whole multitude of instruments before the evening concert in Munich. Beside the Meister J. Scherzer and B&S trumpets they especially liked the new MELTON 4450 F-tuba, as well as the Hans Hoyer 7801 and the G10.
During the joint "Bavarian-Italian" lunch Rome and Bozen were very close together, and Geretsried with the new test center of the B&S GmbH and of the Wenzel Meinl GmbH was the centre of all talks.
